Astrium Services provides a range of services to augment Global Navigation Satellite Service (GNSS) Signals (GPS, Galileo, etc.) to enhance the performance of equipment using those services. The first of these services to go live is ascos (Satellite Positioning Services) provided by AXIO-NET Services (Munich) and Allsat GmbH network+services (Hannover). By means of standardised real-time correction data for GPS and GLONASS a user position accuracy of down to 2cm is achieved.

ascos, the high-precision positioning services comprise four real-time services of different accuracies along with a post-processing service and a real-time transformation service.

Accuracy, availability and service quality of the position determined have been certified. In addition to the GNSS correction data, there is full support for professional navigation applications as well as for the integration of precise positioning and navigation into platforms, systems, and solutions.

The AXIO-NET ascos-team consists of experts for tailor-made services developed for users by users.

Track and Trace applications are becoming increasingly important for government and commercial users. Real-time location-information is required for personnel security as well as for transport of highvalue, secure, or sensitive goods.

Astrium Services is at the forefront of the technology essential for this emerging market.

Astrium Services is developing a number of Track and Trace services aimed at users who require high levels of confidence that all tracking data will be processed and that only authorised users will have access to the tracking data.

Astrium Services develops solutions for communications and navigation in aviation. In particular, Astrium Services puts special emphasis on safety-relevant services in the field of ATM. Together with leading ATM players, Astrium Services thus contributes to increasing efficiency and hence sustainable growth of the air transport sector, while at the same time increasing safety, minimising the impact on the environment and reducing cost. In doing so, Astrium Services builds not only on its own competencies and experience in satellite communications and navigation, but also on the cooperation with other branches of EADS such as Airbus, Military Air Systems, Defence & Security and the Astrium Business Units Satellites and Space Transportation.

Astrium Services continues to play a key role in the Galileo programme contributing expertise in the operation of critical public space infrastructure. Next to its role in Galileo operations Astrium Services is leading or contributing to a number of studies which pave the way for users to benefit from the Galileo Services. This includes the lead for the PACIFIC Study on the Galileo Public Regulatory service.
