EADS SPACE joins Team SAIC to support NATO

Brussels, October 26, 2005 – EADS SPACE is joining a team led by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to bid on NATO’s ALTBMD Systems Engineering and Integration Support Contract (SE&I) (ALTBMD - Active Layered Theatre Ballistic Missile Defense). The Request for Proposals is scheduled for March 2006. EADS SPACE’s involvement is the latest step in a successful long-lasting collaboration with SAIC in NATO’s Ballistic Missile Defence Feasibility Studies since 2001.
Team SAIC includes EADS SPACE, IndustrieAnlagen-BetriebsGesellschaft (IABG), QinetiQ, The Raytheon Company, SAIC UK, Thales Group, the Netherlands’s Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) and Thales Raytheon Systems.

EADS SPACE was responsible, in the previous NATO Ballistic Missile Defence Feasibility Studies, for the overall technical feasibility, threat analysis, sensor performances and sensitivity analysis. For this System Engineering & Integration contract, EADS SPACE will provide its expertise in these technical areas as well as its proven experience in system engineering and integration drawn from some of Europe’s largest and most complex programmes, including the Ariane 5 launcher, the Automated Transfer Vehicle for the International Space Station and Ballistic Missiles.
