AEROSPATIALE MATRA LANCEURS BECOMES EADS LAUNCH VEHICLES
July 12, 2000
AEROSPATIALE MATRA LANCEURS, the industrial leader for civil and military Space transportation, has become EADS LAUNCH VEHICLES.
With the creation of EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company) a group including Aerospatiale Matra (France), DASA (Germany) and CASA (Spain), AEROSPATIALE MATRA LANCEURS Stratégiques & Spatiaux is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Europe’s leading group – third worldwide – in the field of aeronautics, space and defence.
At its Special Shareholders’ meeting of 11 July 2000, it was accordingly decided to change the company name to EADS LAUNCH VEHICLES.
EADS LAUNCH VEHICLES is thus the EADS Group’s launch vehicle company, specialised in designing and building space transport vehicles, orbital infrastructures, and military ballistic systems. It is industrial architect and main stage contractor for the launch vehicles of the Ariane family, industrial prime contractor for the French strategic nuclear force, and for the ATV space cargo. It includes three industrial sites : Les Mureaux (Yvelines), Saint Médard en Jalles (Gironde) and Kourou (French Guiana).
