Successful Flight 161 - Ariane 515 G: satellites Opus C1 and BSAT-2C

In the night from Wednesday June 11, to Thursday June12, the launcher Ariane 5G, (G for " Generic "), the basic version of the launch vehicle, successfully launched in a dual-payload configuration, the telecommunications satellites Optus C1 (Australia) and BSAT-2C (Japan) in the geostationary transfer orbit. The satellite Optus C1, for the Australian operator Optus and the Australian Department of Defence, is the second Australian satellite launched by Ariane. BSAT-2C for the Broadcasting Satellite System Corporation (B-SAT) is the 19th satellite launched by Ariane for Japan. Flight 161 is the 16th mission of the Ariane 5 launch vehicle, the 12th successful flight of of an Ariane " Generic " laucher and the 3rd launch for year 2003.
