AEROCOAT AS
Overview
- AEROCOAT AS is a fire-proof protection destined to counter fires.
- AEROCOAT AS is based on silicon resin with active fillers.
- This fire-proof protection is used on parts of Ariane 5 and ballistic missiles. It is especially used to protect electrical and pyrotechnic lines.
Technology
- AEROCOAT AS is a white colour material made by injection in a mould or directly on the part to be protected. The technology provide exact dimensional size and can be automated if required for large quantities.
- AEROCOAT AS can be bonded or fixed mechanically.

Specificity
- Remarkable dimensional and ageing stability (water, oil, etc...).
- Flight proven on Ariane 4 and Ariane 5.
- This material can be painted with conductive paints e.g. Static Aero B or Mastic AS.
- This material is available in different colours (yellow, red).
Example of thermal efficiency
10 mm of AEROCOAT AS limit the temperature increase of the back face to about 200 °C after an exposure of 3600 s to a flame at 800 °C.
