RF Test Facilities

The product portfolio of EADS Astrium covers a wide range of RF-measurement applications, as well on antenna / subsystem level but also on system level like antennas installed in ground vehicles, aircrafts, UAVs or missiles or complete payload tests on satellite level.

The product line consists of various kinds of highly accurate Compact and Near-Field Facilities, covering frequency ranges from 0.5 to 500 GHz with pattern measurement accuracy of up to ± 0.5 dB @ -30 dB sidelobe level or cross-polarization accuracy of up to ± 2.0 dB @ -40 dB level for test device dimensions of up to 20 m width and 12m height, available for in- and outdoor applications.

EADS Astrium’s RF Test Facilities are centrally operated by an highly intuitive software, the Advanced Antenna Measurement Software (AAMS) allowing fully automated test operations.

Beside the easy-to-use control capabilities and beside the well known high measurement accuracy, the concept of the RF test facilities of EADS Astrium allows also a high degree on customer tailoring in terms of e.g. facility size, which is always appreciated by the customers, when already existing buildings should be used.

In order to help our customers in optimizing their procurement budgets, EADS Astrium’s sales philosophy supports customer contributions on subsystem level, such as for building, RF-shielding, RF-absorber materials, but also in some cases for RF-instrumentation or positioners. Performance relevant contributions will be discussed with the customer and carefully considered for system performance impacts.
