Solar array drive
ASTRIUM can offer a variety of SADM configurations to meet the needs of both medium and hihgh power GEO satellites. These slipring based SADMs offer continuous angular rotation with large diameter main bearings to support a wide range of Solar Array configurations with no need to provide launch offloads.
Stepper motor drives are employed to enable both full step, and micro-step operation for applications requiring low disturbance torques. Rotational telementry is available and the Slipring configuration supports both Signal and Power transfer between the Array and platform
