Located to the North East of the Naval City of Portsmouth, the site has played a major role in the development of the UK's space capabilities since the 60s. Its 1000 staff are involved in the design, build and test of:
advanced payloads for mobile and military communications satellites
world leading Earth observation payloads with advanced spaceborne radars
sensors and scientific instruments such as the microwave humidity sounder
payloads for the Galileo navigation system satellites.
