Hot Bird 8, 9 & 10
Expanding Eutelsat’s fleet
Hot Bird 8, Hot Bird 9 and Hot Bird 10 are three similar Eurostar E3000 satellites ordered by the international telecommunications satellite operator Eutelsat to build the core of their Hot Bird satellite system at 13° E, their premium video neighbourhood broadcasting 1,100 TV channels to 120 million households across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
Hot Bird 8 was launched in August 2006. Hot Bird 9 in December 2008 and Hot Bird 10 in February 2009. Hot Bird 8, 9 and 10, each with 64 Ku-band transponders, have three times the capacity of the previous generation of Hot Bird satellites launched 10 years earlier.
