Our Graduate Development Programme is a two-year programme designed to support graduates in their early career with Astrium. Its purpose is to provide a framework to guide and support you through the first stage of your career development.
Join us as a graduate on this scheme and you will gain a comprehensive understanding of what we do and how we do it whilst having the possible opportunity to work in different business areas. During this time you will also receive a wide range of training and development to build your personal and management skills and equip you for your future career with Astrium.
You will be based mainly in Portsmouth or Stevenage; this will be made clear in the job description.
All of our graduates will get an opportunity for a placement outside of their recruited area and the amount of these will be dependent on the specific role. You may also get the chance to do a rotational placement which may temporarily take you to any site in the UK or across to our sites in France, Germany or Spain.

Once you join as a graduate you will be in involved in one of two projects; Campus Management or ARC SAT. In your induction you will be introduced to both projects and will be able to choose your involvement.
The Campus Management Project is a unique approach to combine new employees training and development needs with building effective relationships with universities for knowledge transfer and sustained recruitment.
The project, named Campus Management, was set up to give graduates the responsibility of forging links with Universities, for both recruitment and marketing and knowledge transfer. Through this, the graduates were empowered to be involved in many areas which are of substantial training and development benefit, whilst also allowing a very cost-effective team to support HR.
This is Astrium Re-configurable Cube-SAT, which is a training programme for Young Professionals at Astrium to design and build a Cube -SAT.
The project was started in 2006 within the satellites division of Astrium.
The project is for young professionals at the start of their career to design, build and test their own satellite.
They do this alongside their normal jobs and it allows them to get a better overview of the whole process of making satellites.
Through hard work and enthusiasm Astrium can involve you in opportunities that you could have never imagined! Some of our graduates have even ended up on TV and meeting the likes of Angela Merkel and Brian Coxs!
