Astrium supplies an extensive range of military satellite communications ground system products from complex hub stations and spacecraft and network control centres, through to transportable systems, naval and airborne terminals, and the smallest man-portable equipment.
SCOT (Shipborne COmmunications Terminal) enables the transmission and reception of naval operational communications (voice, fax, command and support data, imagery, Internet, E-mail, broadcast and welfare services), providing uninterrupted operation under the most adverse weather and sea conditions, while co-existing with advanced sensors and weapons systems. The family of SCOT terminals are based on a unique three-axis, fully balanced and stabilised antenna system and are configured according to specific user requirements. SCOT has been procured by 11 navies worldwide and has been fitted to over 140 ships. MiniSCOT uses the same design principles as the larger variant but is optimised for small ships such as offshore patrol craft and mine warfare vessels.
MASTER (Military Airborne Satellite communication TERminal) is a compact, lightweight satellite communications terminal for secure global speech and data communications. The MASTER system is particularly suitable for installation on maritime patrol aircraft, airborne synthetic aperture radar platforms, unmanned airborne vehicles (UAVs), Special Forces operations aircraft, Airborne Warning Control System (AWACS) and VIP transport aircraft.
MANSAT is a complete lightweight tactical satellite communications terminal supporting secure voice and data communications worldwide, with rugged design for for tactical applications in remote areas or harsh environments. With a basic terminal mass of approximately 9kg, MANSAT can be transported and operated by a single person, and deployed in under five minutes. MANSAT terminals currently in service with a number of European armed forces.
