Capabilities
Located to the North East of the Naval City of Portsmouth, the site has played a major role in the development of the UK's space capabilities since the 60s. Its 1000 staff are involved in the design, build and test of:
- advanced payloads for mobile and military communications satellites
- world leading Earth observation payloads with advanced spaceborne radars
- sensors and scientific instruments such as the microwave humidity sounder
- payloads for the Galileo navigation system satellites.
